Every time I play Rome, I'm getting a huge Steam download. Today it's 4.5gb, and as it started as a 3.5 download and went up in small increments, I'm guessing it's downloading all of the patches etc. since the start, every time I play. I tried turning off auto-update, and it wouldn't let me start the game until I dl'd everything.

The only thing I can think of is I've got Steam installed on a drive other than c: , while AppData/Roaming/Creative Assembly is on c: , so Steam may be confused (though that's pretty shitty if it is).

Any tips?

So you play Rome 2 every day and get this? Or you've not played in awhile and you got this?

Not every day, but I played Saturday, Sunday and today, and those downloads were all over 3gb. I can't imagine they're releasing 3gig patches three times a week ;)

It's been going on for weeks, possibly since launch - but it wouldn't have been so noticeable then. I'm sure it's the dlc that's bumped up the size.

Yeah, far as I know they've not released anything since patch 7. The only thing I can think of it is to verify the game and see if you can get that to stop it from this perpetual download thing it appears to be hung in, and if that doesn't do it, I'd be tempted to delete local content (saving the game files if you've got a campaign going) and re-install because it would drive me crazy if I repeatedly had the game insisting on downloading 3GB every time I wanted to play it.
