I think that'd be totally unjust. Sierra's quality went down every year until they were sending unfinished pieces of crap out the door just for the money. I think 99 % of us would agree that MTW is a fantastic game with some bugs. The single player game rocks pretty good as is and will be great with the AI fixed.
Totally unacceptable to take so long for a first patch, but the game is damn good. The scope of the game design is pretty awesome though. They obviously put a ton of effort into making a fun, replayable strategy game and have succeeded.
Sierra on the other hand was making the same game every year only worst.
Now, where the hell is the patch??!?!

I am going to have to agree with those who say the game is good. It is much much more stable (I use xp) than shogun total war. While I am tired of waiting on this so called "official patch" at least the game works. (though I never really worried about patches until shogun totalwar) The only game I played from Sierra was Outpost 2 and that was a horribly unbalance game so I really can't compare the two companies.
Well Brown then you should try both Half-Life and Homeworld...
Homeworld rocks I still think it is the best 3D RTS out there.
well if you want to talk about lots of patches, look at Quake 3.... theyre up to soo many now, ive even lost count

Sierra absolutely KILLED the Front Page Sports Football line of games.
There were TERRIFIC games, especially FPS 95-97.
It got so bad they recalled an entire game, it was so unplayable.
Didnt they make Outhouse? (Outpost). Second only to BattleCruiser3000 in suckyness.
Unfair criticism. MTW will be on my hard drive forever, along with Diablo 2: LOD and Civ3, and a very few others.

Yep. And they sent it out after the beta testers told them it wasnt working at all. Same thing happend with Redbaron 2(although it wasnt recalled). Dynamix told Sierra it wasnt ready, the beta testers told Sierra it wasnt ready, the suits at Sierra pushed it out the door anyways. Now Dynamix is gone. Its too bad that Valve and Papyrus are under Sierras thumb because it doesnt bode well for them.
With the action of Activision on this patch I have to say they seem to be going down the same road. As for CA it looks more like they are in the same spot as Dynamix. Activision doesnt listen to them and does what it wants, #### CA, #### the public http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

amazingly enough, I've never had a problem with Sierra's games, I even consider myself a solid, regular customer of theirs. But then I've only bought their strat games (Pharaoh, Civil War Generals 2, Zeus, et al.)
this game is excellent.
