Hey Hakonarson,
I've read somewhere that they'll try to import more things from the old boards as soon as possible. Until then, the suggestion is to copy the crucial posts from the old board here.

You can change your picture under "Your control panel", on the upper left, then go to Personal settings, avatar options, you can select a lot of the from a list.
