Yesterday I was feeling particularly evil and decided to have some cruel fun. Set up custom battle me as defender vs 7 AI players (all attackers) on a bridge map. I gave myself
15 longbows V4 and a swiss armored pike V4. Each AI gets a full 16 peasants..hehe...so that's 16 * 7 * 100 = 11200 peasants I deployed my longbows as close to the river as possible and pikemen at the mouth of the bridge.

So battle starts....the AI tries to cross the bridge with hordes of peasants. Naturally it was a massacre at the other river bank and along the bridge. Those few peasants who managed to survive my storm of arrows were cut down by my pikemen. It was not before long before peasants broke and fled. Then one very strange thing happened - the peasants are running away towards me

I'm sure it says "running away" when my mouse pointer is on them, but it seems they were trying to flee towards my end of the map. Whenever the fleeing peasant almost reach my pikemen, they would turn back and run back and forth between the ends of the bridge...and they had a clear escape rout to where they started. So there you go, hundreds of frantic peasants doing shuttle runs on the bridge. So I ordered my pikemen to clear them out.

Then another weird thing happened - my flank is under attack I checked and saw my longbowmen on my right flank were engaging some fleeing peasants That's on my side of the river. I would have known if anybody made it that far since there's only one bridge No big problem, I took them out quickly. Teleportation? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

After I watched the replay it was hilarious. Large patches of land have been so heavily littered with bodies that I can't even see the ground. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Has anybody else experience these anomalies?
