View Full Version : Citadel in Tripoli
I was playing French/hard/GA and failed to build a Citadel in Tripoli in the time allowed. I was wondering how much success others have had? I usually try to expell the English from the continent asap whenever I play blue but perhaps you can't do both.
DojoRat,
It's a tough one. I find best to be in a position to transport your crusade by sea. Make sure you load it up with everything you can spare, including catapults as you will be at war forever with the Eygptians.
As far as the English, they usually go to war with me in this scenario, I take Anjou to allow troop transport between all French provinces. The timeline to accomplish the GA goal does not allow for a all out war with the English, take Anjou and defend France until you secure Tripoli and begin building. You will continually be supplementing the troops in Tripoli.
Beware though, everytime I have conquered Triploi and return the strat map the GA chalice is blinking, I click on it and it CTDs, haven't had the patience to go back and see what happens if I continue gameplay without clicking the chalice. Went back to my Dane GA for awhile after having that happen a few times in a row.
Apeboy,
Thanks. Nice idea about only taking Anjou I'll have to use a little restraint. I guess any fleets you build in the Atlantic go first to the med, though I really like the trade income from Flanders. Ah well, one must resist such worldly desires.
