I just completed my Julii campaign. I needed just 3 regions to win when I invaded England. After London I moved north with 4 Town watch scouting ahead of my main army. I encountered 3 units of Heavy Cavalry (including a General). Expecting the worst I rammed the Town watch into them headfirst and to my biggest surprise the Town Watch routed 3 Heavy Cavalry Units:ave: They even killed the General who was the current faction leader.
Granted I was playing M/M but I found this a little strange. The very next turn a single unit of woad raiders smashed the Town Watch and sent them back so I feel that atleast the stupid roman bonus doesnt extend to Infantry vs Infantry.
I think it's more related to the spear unit attack bonus vs. the low armour barbarian cav.

Interesting about the town watch routing the heavy cav, though if they were chariots I could almost see it. Town watch do not get a bonus vs cav, but chariots are next to useless if used improperly, which the computer does. Even warband can take out chariots, just try to keep a compact formation. Chariots are the only heavy cav you see in England, if I remember correctly. What is that about a Roman bonus?

The Breton donkey carts are classified as heavy cav on par with Armenian Cataphracts?
