Hi,

I´d like to know if anyone ever tried to get rid of those V&Vs which aren`t earned by action but being "given" by gods know which chance. So fed up to get "arrogant" for a guy just doing his job, building up the province, going to war aso - and loosing hard earned points in valour, acumen or other. Or, another example, an army leader of SlavicHorseArchers (Redux), doing the thing he is constructed for, firing arrows. If enemy flees without even getting into melee, such a leader gets "not so bold" or worse - for winning!
I found somewhere in the forums that these V&Vs are written in "changes.txt" and "events.txt". Have in vain tried to edit some of this stuff (not being a modder at all, just a simple player of the game, I sure made some stupid mistakes), but couldn´t find out why I got CTDs loading.
Any help and/or info on this theme would be greatly appreciated.

The reason why I changed the V&V to more "neutral" sounding stuff in Redux was that I could not delete the damn things in the first place as the game would freak-out. Ergo, you are stuck with all that. You can re-name it (as I did), but the effects is all the same anyhow... The game won't run if you actually remove it. This is how I remember it, anyway.

Hi,
Axalon: If I understand that right, that´s something one could call "hardcoded"?!? So no way to take out parts of it (I don´t mind "good runner" if a general behaves cowardly, but there´s other stuff crashing on you without having "earned" it)? Can you retrace the efforts you took to try to get it working, does memory serve thus far? I really would like to find one way or other to make those V&Vs more "sensible"...

@all: Anybody ever was successful (at least in parts) to find out how, where and when that stuff works and where it´s "chiseled down"?!?

puzzeling greetings, daigaku

Correct...

This sounds like the side the V/V was set for was "reversed", or a plus was shown as a minus ( or vice versa )? Or, perchance, the setting may be correct, but the program reverses it, so setting it incorrectly might therefore correct it ?! Just a thought !!
