Attacker Virtues

Playing the Turks I am in 1103 fighting the Egyptians. Well, fought actually. The last two battles, for the Palestine and the Sinai were large, with +1000 men on each side. Large enough to give my general, who prior had the virtue "Skilled Attacker", the two upgrades for this virtue, one after each battle. Originally he was a 5-star.

The game showed the correct nr of stars when I attacked Palestine, i.e. I dropped my general and he got one more star next to him. I didn't take note of the valor in that battle, but after the battle I had gained "? Attacker" (the second, forgot the precise name), which gives you +2 command when attacking. Hee Nice, I said, and attacked them again, this time into the Sinai. Nice battle again, but now I noticed that my units only got the valo/ur awarded for the 5 stars. The F1 screen also said my general was a 5-star. Hmm, pity, I thought, but won the battle anyway. And was pleasantly surprised to have gained "Specialist Attacker", with a +3 to attack.
Last stop was Egypt, and the correct valour was again not given. The valour showed up in the strat screen, when you drop your army on the enemies territory, but not in the battle.

I know people posted a lot of 'bugs', which turned out to be features, but I didn't think this would classify for that. At least, I hope it doesn't http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I have always trused them... I guess I have to watch out.

Have known that there was a bug with a general with both Skilled Attacker and Skilled Defender, there none of them were present in actual battle.

I think I still have a savegame with the situation. Should I upload it? And if so, where?

Noticed this one from "skilled defender" point of wiew.

I use Spanish King (early) lot in battles, and he loses
his +3 stars when he attacks (in strat map). But when fighting starts those 7 stars are back on (in tactical map) .

So attack vv's are broken and only defence one are used in
battles.

btw, we discussed this about month ago, and i then told
people those attack vv's where working ok. Not sure if this
is patch thingy or have vv's allways been broken ( and i tested those pre-patch vv's wrong )

I'm pretty sure the defender virtues have worked for me. i had a natural 6 star king who picked up each stage of defender (to field defence specialist) and repored correctly each time. I must say i havn't checked too much the attcker vitues (other than assuming they work). I'm pretty sure the level one version works. Maybe i'll give it a test later.
