Ian Heath based a Late Saxon Fyrdman on the Tiberius Psalter. (http://warfare.gq/WRG/Dark_Ages-118-19-Late_Saxon_Fyrd.htm) The figure is based on Goliath with the shield pattern of Michael. The pattern on the lower tunic is similar to the tunic of Christ in the Harrowing of Hell and on the sleeves of David.
