Harley Psalter, f12r, Psalm 19 (http://warfare.gq/6C-11C/Harley_Psalter-f12r.htm)
Harley Psalter, f65v, Psalm 123 (http://warfare.gq/6C-11C/Harley_Psalter-f65v.htm)
Harley Psalter, f69r, Psalm 133 (http://warfare.gq/6C-11C/Harley_Psalter-f69r.htm)
Harley Psalter, f73v, David and Goliath (http://warfare.gq/6C-11C/Harley_Psalter-f73v.htm)

Although the psalter was illustrated in England it was copied from the Utrecht Psalter which was brought to England c.1000 so it does not necessarily show Anglo-Saxon costume. Nevertheless, the Goliath figure has often been used to illustrate an Anglo-Saxon armoured warrior.

If those illustrations are accurate, the old Roman army would have mauled the new comers.
