Medieval 3: Total War leaked pre-alpha footage

I am so excited for this! Finally, we are getting Med 3. Here is a report from an unknown CA employee I received on my private e-mail late last night. (the name is obviously not his real name)


Hey mate I wanted to share some information with you regarding Medieval 3. It will span the years 800 AD until 1450 AD, and it will cover Europe, north Africa and parts of Asia. We are introducing a radical new and exciting change to the total war franchise - you will now not only be able to fire your own siege weapons, but also ride down enemies or stand as a pike man in first person mode too! So I don't know how to feel about this, but I am hopeful, considering that it is the first of the month after March.

Nah, it's true. I heard from the same source that you'll be able to play as first-person agents too! Can't wait to sneak into a settlement and poison wells in first person :grin:

Hiya! I just wanted to jump in here and say that this is very, very fake. :P I like the enthusiasm though!

I created it on a whim. We needed an April's fools, but I though doing some master photoshop action and a believable interview would have been too much. I thought I gave a clear hint with JimmyRusselCA (http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/that-really-rustled-my-jimmies)

CA might have moderated those posts out (from www.totalwar.com). I remember seeing some 'analysis' of the advantages of Medieval 3 settings over Rome 2 in a post embedded in a larger thread. That was about a week ago. I could not find the post anymore today.

BTW, this thread was front-page news here for a few days too ;)
