One (Russians). The other seven(Danes, HRE, England, Egypt, Spain, Almohad, and Italians) have crashed and I can't reload them until after the patch comes out.

I havent finish my first campaign.. duh...
One! But I lost http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif I haven't won one yet, although I have 3 going at the same time. I need to concentrate http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
My first game was with danes. Second game played lasted about 10 mins. Third game I still playing going on Month now is a Egypt. Still about 100 years from my GA victory.
Just finished Almohads. I started with English and then Egyptians. I got the game in L.A. the first day it was out and had a week of summer vacation left. I'll probably start Byzantine once my homework lessens which is probably next weekend though I won't have much time to play.

I havnt finished any camps yet even tho ive had the game for a few months. The end game bores me as i would rather fight enemy factions than 10+ stacks of rebels every few turns!

Well, I work 50 hrs a week and have somewhat of a personal or family life, but I have still managed to complete two English, one French, and I am have just passed the 60% mark on an Almohad campaign. I tend to play aggressive and balls to the wall so to speak.
Missed a hell of a lot of sleep to do it, though.

None. They all end due to saved game crashes before I can get to the end.

Forward Observer,
You need to multi-task. I sleep at work. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/cool.gif It works great. Still leaves plenty of time for family and MTW.

I got the game on August 21(?) and I'm still on my first campaign...and I'm only about 90 years into it. I figure I'm spending about 1 hour per turn on average. I can't even imagine how some of you manage to play the game so quickly unless you are auto-resolving the battles.

Hmmm, I shamefully admit that I have just completed my sixth one. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/redface.gif Two ended with 60% victory, four with 100%. I don't rush, but yes, I am an addict with alot of spare time...... And I should really start writing the damn thesis now..... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
finnished 2 campagin, and am on my way through a third

That what the back stall in the restroom at work is for. A toilet paper roll makes a dandy pillow, too.
Cheers
I spend 5-15 minutes per turn on the campaign map in the middle to end game. Sometimes, I'm reluctant to press end turn and have to go over everything again to see if I missed anything.
On battles, I tend to increase speed when nothing much is happening.

i tend to do that alot
finished no games mainly because ran outta time enemy was slaughtering me or because i decided to start a new one and edit it to give me 1000 extra turns
I played 6 campaigns (bought the game beginning of sept)
I finished one at 100% domination (spaniards)
2 at 60% (French, Biz)
1 won on GA (Italians)
1 dropped (polish, might come back to it)
I'm right now on the english. I found a way to restart my waning interest, due to poor AI : start late. Even on expert, starting early or middle give you too much time to tech up and conquer. On late however, you race against the clock and it becomes a LOT more challenging. I'm going to post something on that effect, because it has changed my perception of the game.
played english (twice) and byzantines, didnt finish the campaigns. currently playing hre.

I have finished a couple byz campaigns and a couple others - GA all. I have left a dozen or so unfinished, in various stages (some pretty close to the end).
I don't play long sessions (seldomly I can play more than 1 1/2 hour a day) but I tend to autoresolve 90% of the battles and speed things up in those I am actually fighting. And I never take more than 5-6 minutes per turn in the later stages of the campaign.
...and my wife has shown some seldom understanding of my condition under this game http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

None. I usually get bored after awhile and start up a new one. The closest I've come to the completion date was 1440 I believe.

None yet... Always get myself into a new campaign again because I get bored. Now playing into a really nice game with the Aragonese with a small mod. I'll see if I can finish it to the end now. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
None here either. I always quit when massive armies of dead civs show up or many provinces revolt. Anyway, it is more fun to play in the early game before battles become quite so massive.
I was playing spain last nite and had killed all elmoheads. A new heir appears in portugal and after I kill him and take over portugal, 5 years later 4 full stacks of advanced troops appear in africa. I quit and started over with egypts. I surely hope this is fixed in the patch as it sucks big time. Who has 4 or 5 hours to throw away this way?
I've only played two campaigns to the end. One was a 1087 campaign and the other was a 1092 campaign.
The 1092 campaign is an excellent mod that can be downloaded from http://home.pacbell.net/jpaladin/1092Early.zip
It is both relatively historically accurate and alot more fun because it throws you right at the start of "Crusade Season" and into the "Age of Feudalism" as opposed to the unhistorically way it's handled in the 1087 campaign. I mean, historically a Crusade was called upon the Holy Land in 1095 and it arrived in Jerusalem 1099. Notice how that's impossible to do in the 1087 campaign? In the 1087 campaign you have to build a Castle, a Church, a Chapter House, and then a Crusade Unit.
Then, it will take about 10 years or so to arrive in the Holy Land. Add that together, and even if you start working on a Crusade in 1087, you won't actually have an army in the Holy Land until 1117 or later!! With the 1092 campaign, as the French departing from Clermont, you can have a Crusading army there as early as 1106. That's alot closer to history than the 1087 campaign.
Please try the 1092 campaign and then post it at: http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000601.html and share your thoughts.

Finished 4 GA Campaigns but am in the middle of my first conquest. Playing as the Italians I can report that I have only managed around 30% of the map so far...I am biding my time for Goths...1200 on the dot and I'm a long way off.
I think I'll slaugter the Almohads next...

2. First-Byzantines on second easiest setting. Won.
Second-English on second hardest setting. Won.

I got smashed to pieces on hard, grumbled, then started on....easy. Anyway, its fun, and I just finished off the french about ten minutes before I left for school this morning, nearing the end of the 1100's. England shall rule the world! MUWHAHA.
Every battle I have at least one unit of highlanders or gallowglass, they're VERY effective :P

None.
I had two going well under win98; got to late 1300's.
New OS is winXP and game freezes every time I get into battle...too bad because I was really enjoying the game.

Mary, Queen of Scots,
Have you reviewed the Table of Contents, thread? If not, then check it out, read through the threads under "Rebellions". Lots of good tips for different styles of play in dealing with Rebellions.
Rebellions are NOT a bug!!! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
HopAlongBunny,
Have you installed the "Latest" WinXP drivers for your hardware?
--------------
My first Campaign, Expert, was as the Byzantine. Quit that after just one province rebelled with a super stack! New something was up. Hit the forum and took the manual to the reading room. Discovered that...ahhhh...this ain't Shogun! Quit that campaign, started new one with new found knowledge.
Second Campaign, Normal, as the English, ran into the Savegame bug around 1240 or something.
Third Campaign as Italians, Normal, learned all about Trade! Quit and started new campaign with new knowledge.
Fourth Campaign as Danes, Hard. Perfected trade, took all the "key" Christian provinces, such as, Flanders, North Umbria, Venice, Constant., then read on the forum about the Poles being a difficult faction. Put Danish Camp. on hold. Couldn't resist the challenge.
Present and Fifth Campaign as Poles, Expert. The Poles ARE chanllenging! Discovering the Hojo...errr...Elmo Hord...I've heard so much about.
Worth noting, that last nite, I attacked and took Kiev from the Hungarians who are allied with the Novogrod. While besieging a good number of troops in Kiev, the Novogrod, with whom I've been at peace and have married into several times; surprised attacked me in Kiev. I lost the d... battle! (Hard time recovering from the shock.)
But, the really surprising thing, is that the Novogrod DIDN'T keep the province, but returned it to the Hungarians!!! they're Allies. So, who says alliances don't work?
Now, I've got to take care of Novogrod, which is a walk, but wasn't in my plans; the Hojo/Elmo keep getting bigger; the English are worn out to no consequence by the Elmo, and the Eygtian shell is about to implode from Elmo pressure.
I believe I'm going to lose this Campaign. Spies, spies, I need spies!!! Can't afford to go to war with Elmo, Income is less than 1500, I need another army and Elmo is getting closer. Subterfgue is my only hope.

in my first game as the danes, i have accomplished many of the goals, but still have a long way to go untill the game ends. no silly crusades for the danes. i am excomunicated and awating my reprive for attacking the decetful polish.
i recently started a game as the italians, and the pope is dead, hurray.. but i don't have a lot of time to play.

ToranagaSama,
All drivers are the latest.
We did a clean wipe (format drive) of win98 and win2k pro; installed winXP then got latest drivers for everything.
The person who helped me with the installation also has MTW running under winXP; works perfectly fine...now thats annoying!
i finished probably about ten campaigns and stopped playing several others ones in the middle. Most of my campaigns were played as italians.
I often go for a trading empire, so it is essential not to fight too much. That speeds up the game quite nicely. And I autoresolve quite a lot of battles

I must be on about my 15th campaign by now, have only finished one of em but my current campaign is turning out to be the best of the lot.
I'm Spain, quickly wiped out the Almos, the French had early dominance but are now being slowly squeezed by England, Myself, and more incredible the Scillians!!! I'd never even seen them move before let along conquer territory, in the east a large Byzant Egyptian war is raging and the Novogord are doing......well doing nothing really.......but I'm having fun!!!!!!!
Im on my second, cant complete it because of a bug that constantly crashes it whenever I load the game.
(Attacking italy, im byzantine, to one of the islands, crete i think, where a crusade is sitting there.. battle ends, game crashes, no matter if i auto-do it or if i command personally)
im tired of the crashes so im waiting till this patch, hopefully its out by 2010

6 so far, 2 English, 2 Egyptian and 2 Spanish. 2 easy games, 2 normal, 1 hard and 1 expert. The only constant so far is that they are pretty much over about 100-150 years in or so. Once you figure out how to reduce rebellion chances and how to use spies, the game is cake. All games except the Spanish expert were early (Spanish is late just so I could mess with the late units). I'll probably try the Turks next or possibly the Danes.
Almohads, Danes, Byzantines, Germans, French. I stopped them all at 60% because I can't see how to clear off the last couple of islands to get to 100%.

Just finished my first.
Got a terrific picture, a reward picture.
I would like to save it, and use it as wallpaper.
How do you take a screenshot?
Thanks. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

eerr......................I sort of completed 1 ( a minor english victory, I just don't have that much gamming time). Normally I either get the almohads mad at me and they invade with their hordes and navy or (in the case of the Danish) I keep running out of money. Though I just auto resolve all battle since I have not mastered the 3d battle yet. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/redface.gif

None, I can't be bothered would be an easy opt out, but the fact is I don't enjoy it. There's always a point where I become invinsible, sure I can lose battles but in the end due to quality of troops etc. I know I can beat the AI & at that point it becomes boring.
Gimme the thrill of the earlies, where one battle will leave you without any army to speak of, & the loss of 1 prov can devastate your whole economy.
That's what the games all about for me.
