stuck in night attack

I am using England and I sent 4 longbowmen, standing near a Spanish city (ally)
That city is surrounding by 1 Portuguese army (neutral) and 1 pope army (neutral)
and they provoke a night attack to the Spanish city so I cannot join battle
However it still offer me choice for fight by myself or by the computer
the game crashed and closed by itself if i choose to fight by myself
or
the game stuck in the map that the portugese general is waving his sword towards the city

the longbowmen cannot leave so it seems I can do nothing now : (

what should I do?

what should I do?

Save every 10 turn or so, or after every battle you don't want to re-fight (some are just arduous). Lesson learned the hard way.

sadly even in autosave my longbowmen are still there...cant move
