you don't, my friend. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
Span
Unfortunately you cannot view it during a battle, but you can see the battle logs afterwards.
Any personally fought battle (pressing Esc included) will generate a battle log file, which is in the directory called "logfiles" under your shogun folder. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
The first column tells you the honor, while the kills is the last column (or so. Every column is badly labelled so it is not so hard to read http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif). However, the honor showed in the log file is the "true honor", which does not reflect the general's rank bonus.

thank you. I was reading one of your stories and remembered that this information was viewable, but I had long since forgotten how to find it.
btw, a good read http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
You are welcome http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
Also,
- If a taisho is killed, his rank becomes 0 in the logfile.
- The logfile only shows the final status of soldiers. For example, a Honor 4 soldier of 5 kills is only Honor 4 at the end, while before the battle he might be only H2.

yes u can. the only thing u can view during the battle are how many men u got left, the honor status, attac bonus, def bonus, and the armor of each unit when u press f1. U cant see the how many kills each unit has.

OK I'm writing my story, and wanted to get the name of the samurai who triggered the master swordsman event... look in my shogun folder and no "logfile" folder. I've look around a bit and even tried a search on recently modified files, but still can't find where this information is stored. please if you should shed a little more light I would apreciate it.
thanks
Hi VoodooChild:
It is the "logfiles" folder, should be directly under the STW main foldier. All the log files are called
campaign mm-dd-yy ######
So you can start a search of campaign 07-25-01 and maybe you can locate what you need directly.
btw I signed up for you in the SP campaign! All discussion have been moved to the CLAN forum. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

bizzaro..... looked on my desktop version which plays poorly and crashes a lot and the folder is there.... look at my laptop where the game plays like a dream.... no dice.
must be the version number, but since the patch is 4.3 meg large I'll have to wait until tomorrow before I can move it over to the laptop. then I have to worry about if the patch version will play on my laptop *grin*
thanks
