Tsk, tsk, you gave up too soon. Was it just that one line of dialogue? With most of the people she promised to protect killed and her "babies" stolen, how else would you expect an 18(?) year old girl to react? It also means you missed "Blackwater" which is simply one of the best hours of television ever created. And "Rains of Castamere' should be watched in it's entirety not just for the Red Wedding. Killing off Talisa/Jeyne is one of the many improvements the producers have made to the source material.

GRRM's lawyers are scum :on_furious:and because of this he will receive no further money directly from me. His books will be available at the library. And I got HBO free last year to watch the first 3 seasons (from verizon) and free this year from Direct TV. No money for you, George.

I saw everyone as a double avatard, now I found out that this was because I had enabled my avatar so it was added to my profile pic, I deleted the avatar and now I only have 1 pic- the profile pic. LC: I've read the books. Dany is 14 in the books, and she never lost her dragons. Basically I got pissed at the deviations the show took from the plot. Blackwater I didn't find too impressive in the books apart from the usual dose of Tyrion genius.

I see only a tiny spoiler if you havn't watched season 2 (if not then do so! xD). But I'd just say to Myth that I enjoy the changes in the show, if they made it exactly like the books there wouldn't be any fun and would be predictable (I particularly like a few of the storylines in season 4 which I won't mention due to spoilers xD). As for Blackwater, GRRM isn't particularly keen to write about battles throughout the series, and with the blackwater we can see why.

Although I didn't think the Blackwater was great, I enjoyed the battle at the wall and from what I've read the Slaver's Bay battle sounds great

Compared to the likes of Tolkein GRRM isn't great at describing battles :P the best author for battles is a guy called Conn Iggulden who writes fantastic historical fiction and I highly recommend people to read!

Why should we hide possible spoilers that has mainly happened in the show? Finding the big events from season 3 as spoilers, sounds ridiculous to me.
I mean the obvious big events must be allowed to be talked about without hiding it.

I can live with his description of battles. I just don't like it when he skips by them or gives us a secondary view (didn't he give the battle of whispering wood in a Catelyn POV?). As for Conn I remember reading his Caesar books and him having some good battles. I just hated how he had some really small, but incredibly obvious historical errors. Like the fact that the Consuls would give away corn to the poor people. My personal favorite author when it comes to that is Steve Erikson.

Because the main HS doesn't take place during then (although maybe extend it up to book four then), if you want to talk about later spoilers hide them, it doesn't exactly take much effort and people will easily still see. Also there probably should be a thread to discuss the books and TV series. Anyway this is just my view, I am not an admin or anything (but IIRC an admin did agree with me).

I agree with panda and think I even remember the thread, better safe than sorry and to state that her dragons wont die is a pretty big one.
It takes very little effort and saves a fair bit of griev, even if it has taken place in the show it does not hurt.

Since all of us have different views of what is old enough not to be spoiler, play it safe and preferably all the way back to S2.

Remember, the fandom is dark and full of spoilers

I didn't consider my comment as a spoiler, not by a longshot. I haven't watcehd the show for about 2 years, so I can't possibly spoil anyone when discussing that. The books though DO give me knowledge that can spoil a lot, but I'm not discussing them now.

Also, I was just about to say that Steven Erikson is a great fantasy author when it comes to war, and I saw that The Forgotten has already mentioned him. Erikson has his shortcommings, like using some modern words in his fantasy or thinking that a herd of half a million buffalos actually makes sense. But it is all forgiven when he describes campaigns, battles and the soldier's life.

Yea, we can scrap it entirely though we can still scout with em and use vs AI.
I am used to the rules I suggested and think they work very well, but scrapping is simpler still.

Dr Mac set the save up and can give admin PW to whoever, he had edited files though so you're up first.

I'm Gaming Staff and a Citizen over on TWC so i shall ofc return home, but it feels quite ungrateful to just up and leave the first chance we get.

I think Apes idea of setting a date for the move is what's best. Make a thread saying "We'll be moving back to TWC on July 1st, so get ready!" and that way come July everyone will/should be prepared and hopefully wont delay any HS. EDIT: Maybe i'm just over thinking things? as wherever we move now or next week makes generally little difference. I'm sure Ice or Drake will post something official, since Dux left them in command lol.

I agree 100% with Soul, we need to be a bit more respectful to the forum that greeted us with open arms. Without them this community would have seriously have been damaged even in that small month.

I have sent a private email to all GS members about our situation. Until we work things (hopefully soon) out on what to do for now we continue as normal. Once we work it out drake and I will make an official post on what to do.

You know, if we could get some more of the .Org members to play then we wouldn't have to pick which site to stay at. There would just be two sites and and players could stay at either. Also, every once in a while we could get a friendly competition between the sites sort of like the official tournament. Perhaps a North vs South, or replicated Blackfyre scenario.

I would like it if you guys stayed. You are of course, free to do as you wish, but you really didn't have time to get a feeling of the .org community and the way we do things here. If it is more convenient to move back, do it. But do hang around here as well. Especially for some HS in other mods, or if we do a succession game or other custom character came for Westeros.
