While hassling with the logfile reader we noticed that the friendly kills are maybe too low. Anyone have the same or any other opinion?

seems naptha and catapults doesnt do any as well. are the friendly kills well recorded and putted into the logfile are are our developers at the Empire mistaken?

Imo naphta's power rely on its -4 morale when hitting on a mass of enemy unit. Back when I started playing and still using the blitzkrieg strategy (massing all units on one spot), my enemy sneaked a naphta thrower and start bada-boom'ing on me causing an immediate rout. And of course, this was pre-patch.

Yeah you definitely get friendly kills from naptha. I've taken out more of my own units than enemy units with naptha before. They can even kill themselves.

maybe the log file has another flaw http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wacko.gif

do friendly kills show for other ranged units? can you show us some examples?

if my logs are correct i get friendly kills.
but u cant trust the logs, they just too buggy...

i tested in games and counted the friendly kills....
the fast shooters, like arba or crossbow, wich dont shoot in a high angel kills enougth, the archers wich are widespreaded kills less....

just what i saw...

one vaguely realated point, can you take a man prisoner with an arrow?

seems to me captured men are those killed from a broken unit, so if you shoot at a broken unit do those kills count as kills or prisoners, i'm sure i've seen my captured numbers go up as the result of shooting people. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

hmm...I'll have to check my logfiles. Like Koc said though, I dunno if they're entirely accurate. We'll see though.

Orlok Paolai http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif and me http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif went in battle http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif and tested it by just shooting enemy troops surrounded with own troops with catapults and sofar, no friendly http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif kills recorrded in logfile.:(

they die on teh field and not in logfile, and thats a pitty.

i think it wont be patched thoo
