I was doing well with Turk starting on Early Period. Everything went fine, wipe out Egypt/Byzantine/Russia/Mongols, basicly 70% of the west is under my control.

Now, In the year 1245 my ruler died. A 17 year old climb on the throne of Sultan. He's a 6 star, with a taste of "Young Boys other than woman". Well, i thought, King can't live forever, i just need him to produce better general, so this Vice&Dice is acceptable. I was wrong.

In 33 years he did not produce a single son. (Now i really think it's the Vice&Dice thing, can anyone confirm this?). Finally, at the age of 50 a heir was born, my only heir.

Then the Pervert Sultan died, at age 56, reload the game can't save him, seems he just have to die at that "young age" to ruin my whole kingdom.

Civil War broke out...... and my kingdom is in ashes.......

Well, don't think 56 was such a young age in those times... but I couldn't say if it has something to do with the vices & virtues; guess you just had bad luck

BTW My friend also got a king who "loves young boys", so far he's 53, and no sons.

He gave a good tip too: kill him off ASAP And keep your fingers crossed the new king will be better

I will keep an eye on this, never noticed it to work this way, would be pretty cool though Maybe it's kind of a sidegame to try and create the weirdest family? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif

You have to go back two turns in order to change history. When kings die, what stats an heir will receive upon coming of age, etc. are all decided a turn before they actually happen.

A frustrating experience indeed, I can never get a compotent 4-6 star heir either, there has to be a vice accompanying them, gluttony, secret preversion, good runner, odd number of toes, etc. Is there any mod that can make your heir have less of this and more good ? I mean if it's balanced then ok I wouldnt complain, but I had an occassion where every heir of mine have one/two of the bad vices, irritating.

the worst part about it is that i seldom see anyhting bad about enemy kings, heirs, and generals. it wouldn't be so bad if my enemies weren't god like.

and maybe if you give land titles to those secret blackmailer generals, your heirs won't end up looking so bad. i'm gonna try that my next campaign. not a big deal really, even if they have bad acumen. just put them on the front lines...nobles allways drop like flies.

I've seen lots of enemy generals with bad habits as well. Maybe if all your enemies are so god-like you should try to marry of some daughters of a king with six toes... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

That'll teach them
