Is there any way to override this. I think my PC can handle more units and it is really annoying when it happens to me or the AI.

I looked in the preferences but came up with nothing.

Thanks, Majasprat :)

In RTW, setting "unlimited men on the battlefield" in the ini file to 1 would stop this from happening in the majority of occasions. I think it is the same with M2TW.

Don't know if I understood well, but do you unlike the fact that reinforcements are delayed ? Because it's one thing I miss from other wargames, those logistic incidents and delays that make war look hazardous as it should be :-)

Yeah if it were a freak occurrence thing meant to be random that would be awesome but I believe the game does it because it thinks your computer can't handle more men on the field so it's actually an annoying throttling measure. But maybe that was meant to seem like a feature :P

To fix, edit your EBII.cfg to have the following line

unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 1

This is what I meant. I agree though a random delayed reinforcements would be a cool edition. Where do I find the EBII.cfg?

C:\(wherever you have M2TW installed)\mods\EBII

Odd, it already has that line ...

And it's set to 1 and not 0? If so you might try making it read-only (the launcher might be overriding it) right click and select properties and near the bottom is should have a check box for read only. Just remember if you ever want to edit it again to reverse that process.

Not sure if it applies to M2TW, but in Rome Total War reinforcements would ALWAYS be delayed when you set them to manual control, if the number of unit cards would exceed 20. The reinforcements will not be delayed if they are AI controlled.
