View Full Version : Org turn into a SP board...
hi guys,
i tryed to read all the posts and every tread, and i noticed that the most guys are SP and many just post 1 or 2 times... well, if i caount the votes in the Poll´s i also as me where all the players are??
so im the only 1 with this opinion.....?
i also talked with many guys online about this and i heard often that they read the org but stoped to write, or very less.... so i have to say that this board exsist now about 2 years and the longtime player was the soul.... but now the soul go away part for part....
reflect this port and things like the Polls still the MP issues?
In 2 or 4 months the most of the SP will leave again, what will happen if they left?
koc
Koc, just because the majority of the posters are posting about the SP game, doesn't mean the soul is leaving the org part by part as you put it...?
What you are seeing is simply that the MTW SP game offers far more to the TW gamer than STW ever did, and therefore there is so much more to talk about.
Plus the modding capabilities of MTW are many times greater and more advanced than they ever were in STW. And lets face it, it's either the ability to mod or the MP side of a game that gives it its online lifespan.
Personally, for the moment i'm getting great pleasure modding and playing the game to my own desires, without the moans and groans associated with "MP balancing this and MP instability that..."
The only real thing i care about is whether i play the game, want to play the game and look forward to playing the game. And at the moment i do on all 3 accounts. I just hope they (CA) can solve the Glorious Achievements bugs and then my game will be complete.
I like MP, for a game or two here and there, but because so many hassles, right/wrong etiquette and whining/moaning is assoociated with it, it loses its appeal. Plus the fact that the MP side of MTW still needs some urgent attention.... and we've heard nothing from the developers to even suggest this is on the agenda.
That's my thoughts.
Doc
i have to agree with doc here, I am having tremendous fun with the SP aspect,
plus i was online for a short time tonight, and the name calling and insults in the foyer would be enough to drive many newbies away,
fear not though KocMoc,
an MP specific forum will be here soon,
I am hoping for that to be online this weekend,
:D
(btw - i saw your message to me, but i was waiting for a game to start, and got dragged away to battle before i could reply, sorry about that...)

i agree with every point doc made here (and boy, that's TOTALLY: RARE). i hardly ever played the stw/we/mi campaigns, but the single player is so nicely beefed up now and the modding capability is sheer genious on CA's part, that i find myself much more involved in SP than MP. and yeah, i still wander into the mp servers once in a while, but it's usually just to test something or play with my clanmates for a little fun.

The problem is WE NEED AN MP FORUM Holy crap when are we going to get it? The Org used to have a MP focus-- that is gone now. I am sooo tired of MP posts becoming SP discussions.
The quick, easy, rational approach is to start an MP forum. When I started a poll on the issue I got 100% approval for an MP forum until the poll was closed. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif
For god sake give us some respite from the confusion caused by SP/MP differences.

Hi Kocmoc m8
As Barocca said we are looking at a MP forum...
hopefully if we can get it organized it will appear this weekend
Hey koc relax... if you have noticed we are quite a few patrons here too that have lots of posts under the belt. I'm not one of the oldies if that is what you meant, I was a vivid SPer during the STW times, I still am.
But from time to time I play online.
It seems you think it is a step in the wrong direction that the org has more SP now compared to before MTW, and that it is the SP that is the problem.
That was the very reason I never posted here very much before this year.
All in all, don't worry. It looks different, it acts different, but it is not different.

Wow Now THAT is service. Look at that response time I am impressed Lol.
I think what Koc was saying is this:
There is a comeraderie among MP players. We play day in day out with the same guys online and get to know them as friends. This builds a "community." The SP players are not similarly linked to one another. Sure, they swap battle stories--but they do not battle eachother or fight beside eachother.
Neither MP or SP is more important than the other, but there is more of a "community" amongst the MP players.
I think a MP forum will solve everything.

I don't really get what you're complaining about, in regards to the Org. It looks like you're annoyed that more people are discussing the SP over the MP, which is a blameless issue.
Anyhow, there is a solution arriving soon.
The topic about a MP forum request was moved to the WatchTower. There will be a MP forum soon. I'm looking for some 'requirements'.

There has been too much talk about the MP and SP as if the two contradict or exclude each other. And as if the Org has an influence on this. It's players that make the content.
The MP forum that we are working on is a logical result of the discussions we have seen here over the past time. That will give the players focused on MP a place to discuss the issues that they feel most strongly about, and also make it easier for new visitors and players to get to grips with what MP is all about.
Every game forum will change in time... Long lasting players will at some stage leave... New players will join... With MTW a new group of people entered the stage which changed the way it might feel to those that have been here for 2 years or more.
If that is the case then it's up to the people that want to hang out here to have the discussions that they want, and get some of the feeling they enjoyed back into it. I know there has been a rally for MP players to move to the MP Society, or Clan Society, but I have visited there a few times and don't see that really picking up until now. I certainly don't see much difference in the discussions there and here.
Maybe it's time for another tournament or something to get the noses into one direction again...
Hey Guys,
That's great news that an MP Forum is being created.
I love SP to bits and I'm glad that there's so much discussion regarding that aspect of the game.
It will be great to have the MP issues "under one roof", so to say. The volume of posts and subjects is so high that it can seem a bit disjointed if you are looking for MP specific issues.
If you haven't had a go at MP, check it out. It's really alot of fun.
Don't be put off by tales of bad mouthed spammers and sore losers. They represent a MINORITY of the online players.
Don't be put off by tales of Gamespy being "stinky" http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif , it works fairly fine for most people.
MP is alot of fun and the people there are alright. You will probably bump into a few friendly faces from the Org while your there.
See you online.
I hope.
Azrael
i think it was needed because topics got very confusing
for example read this thread
Example Thread (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=2534)
and you will see that some confusing stuations will easily be avoided http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
its coming so no need to worry anymore http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
can you be more specific tosa? "requirements"?

SP and MP are two entirely differnt worlds. The strategy, tactics, unit stats, interests, comeraderie, etc. etc. of SP and MP are quite different.
I think the decision to have an MP forum is wonderful. I think we need an SP forum too. We should leave the Main Hall for issues common to SP/MP.

Chances are the Main Hall will deal with all MTW issues, even minor MP threads if they are simple and can be handled in one or two replies (otherwise they will get moved). The MP forum will deal with all MP (which includes Shogun et al) and will serve for more in-depth discussions of MP game mechanics. There is a potential for overlap between the MP forum and Clans/Tournaments forum, but hopefully it will be minimised.

oddly enough,
everyone agrees with the need for an MP forum...
http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
now i'd like to mention the need for a common global currency

Sounds good. I cant wait.
Konnichiwa,
The MP forum has been created and is open: The Jousting Fields. This forum will be moderated by ShadesWolf and tootee. Normal org rules apply to that forum.
Have fun.
