GA as Turkish

question.

I am playing the turkish in Grand Achivment mode.

the two grand achivement tasks are to launch a jihad to capture palistine and antioch. the thing is at the start of the game they are held by the egyptians.

I cant launch a jihad at these provences because i have never owned them and the egyptians are my muslim brothers anyhow.

the way it stands are you supposed to wait unit a christian or orthodox faction captures them and then launch a jihad at the provences ??

fat chance of that happening. these two provences and the one in between are the most vital provences for the turkish if you want to survive beyond a few years. (lots of tradding goods) so i am forced to take them early the normal way agaisnt the egyptians.

the way GA is structured for the turks seems stupid.

have i overlooked something ??

Hey Romulous,

Great if you hold your objectives already. You can wait for the Crusades to come, retreat to the castle and then launch your Glorious Jihads to take what was already yours.

Failing that, remove your armies, tax the peasants through the roof and hope they revolt.

i wish the GA mode would start off with those two provences already held by crusader armies.

Well, I'm not sure about you, but when I did the Turks in Glorius Achievement mode, all you had to do was capture the province (Palestine, for example). When it says "Jihad for Asia" it doesn't mean an actual in-the-game, player controled Jihad, its refering to the fact that the muslim factions see Asia as theirs, and Jihad is referring to the act of taking all the holy lands.

Again, this was my own experience, post patch. Results may vary per individual.

My understanding is that the "Jihad for Asia" is poorly named. It should be called "Keep Holy Land Moslem." That's what you have to do-- as long as moslems rule The Holy Land, bing, you get the points. If you're the Turks and The Holy Land is Egyptian, you still get the points.
