ok, i know many have heard this before, but v's & v's need fixing, if for nothing else but to eliminate contradictory v's & v's. i mean, come on... a devout pervert... a great leader that's a dead drunk. a true believer that's a secret blackmailer. an unhinged loon that oozes charm?
surely something can be done with these things.
and another thing, vices coming from battle. i had a three star general go to war with a 6 star one. it was a hard battle, and costly. but i sent the enemy general to flight, but so did mine. he was chaseing down routing hobilars, and as he broke from the trees he found himself in the middle of 2 catapults and 1 balista. to top it off, the hobilars i was chaseing rallied then, not even an inch from the border. between the hobs, that should have kept running, and the artillary that should have been hitting both my gen and the hobs as they were in close melee, i should have managed to break the hobs, then kill the artillary. but no, beat down to just him, he broke.

if you hold your cursor over the vices, it gives a description of the vice. it says, for good runner, "on more then one occassion...." this was his first battle ever. so the description should tell you right off the vice needs fixin'.

With a bit of imagination contradictory v&v's make sence and add to the mood.

eg A devout and pious general who strongly believe in the christian dogma and could do anything in order to achieve goals whitch will increase the impact of religion on the locals, even use terror and blackmail etc.

then how about a man that's very loyal, but involved in a secret adultery?
or a skilled attacker that's a good runner.
or someone that's a natural leader, but crackbrained.
a pious pervert, a mighty warrior that's sybarite..
your right, one does to an imagination to see how these would fit.

Just get creative. My BEST general (9star) had Crack-Brained and Not So Bold, along with Skilled Attacker, Builder, and Expert Field Defense. That translates into: A madman who is a military genius, when hes not so busy sucking on horseshoes. That works for me.

Most humans have massive contradictions at the best of times why can't our gens in the game???

Just because the guy likes boys doesn't mean he can't believe in god. He just has a conflict of faith. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/argue.gif

And i've met many a nut-bar who are, on the whole, intelligent and witty but when things go bad they start ranting and raving and use that intelligence against whatever displeases them in a very psycotic way. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wacko.gif

Im sure everyone has met many people that are contradictions or there would not be such a word as hypocrite.

In fact this is more close to realism than to have gens with all positive or all negetive v&v's. You 'll never find a superhuman or a parasite in history-and when you will it will be "the exception which confirms the rule". Apart from that makes gameplay more interesting and the general/government/office title bearers selection far more difficult.

I like v&v's as they stand now-except I want MORE

"On more than one occasion"

If you remember STW, when a general(or at least a good one) was generated, if you looked at his stats he would have oh say 6 battles already under his belt. Where these battles came from is beyond my current knowledge, but it appears that MTW accounts for these "phantom battles" as well.

AND NOW A BUNCH OF EMOTICONS

real history

Nov 24 1326

The gay lover of King Edward II, Hugh le Despenser the Younger, is hanged after his penis and testicles are burned in front of him -- "because he was a heretic and a sodomite, even, it was said, with the King."
