Shimazu invades Chikugo Summer 1530

With the upcomming Co-op campaign, I decided to play some campaigns. Now my usual style is slow and methodical with lots of shinobi running causing uprisings. After reading Maltz's Falcon men when he invades Imagawa from the get go, I decided to polish up my tactical skills and give it a try.

I'm slaughtered everytime. I can bring in HC, 2 SA, 3 YS, & a YA vs. 1 h2 SA & 3 YS. I've tried running my HC over and around the enemy, but eventualy he panics and runs. I've tried different types of assults. Everthing I can think of on a bridge, each time death comes with big pointie teeth. ARGGG

So is this how you play your Shimazu campaigns, or do you wait some time to gather your forces?

Each time a unit is asked to march away from the enemy, the soldiers suffer a morale penalty. This means your daimyo will get panic in one minute if you give him 5 orders per second.

What you can try is to predict where the enemy is coming to you, and assign only ONCE the destination which makes the HC will just pass by the enemy YS, whatever. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Then after like 20 seconds you will need to issue the second order because the enemy is charging towards you. Again, try to predict their marching route so you can just pass through them again. But just issue one order. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
