playing a hotseat in medieval II

hi there, my buddy and i tried to figure out how to play a hotseat campaign on this game, yet we couldn't find it, i know it's possible because i have seen hotseat campaign let's plays on youtube.

is there anyone who can tell me how to start one?

Just curious, have you looked at the retrofit mod? It added all the features and fixes that came about between MTW2 vanilla launching and Kingdoms, could be what you've seen is folks playing MTW2 vanilla hotseat using retrofit.
