when I started a new French SP in HIGH as Hard, the French middle east provences ANTIOCH, TRIPOLI, CYPRUS had rebellines every turn. I checked the loyalty of the provences, they are all 0. Each turn there were mass rebelline with a few desert armies consist of camels, SaracenInfantry, MamlukCavalry, Hashishin, AbyssinianGuard etc. As been cut off from the kingdom, my poor garrison just has no way to replace my lose quick enough after each battle. I have to retreat to tripoli after turn 2, then my defence expert general led a hopeless charge of his remaining 13 man into the massive rebelline army and got killed in turn 5.
After that, I just want to do some test and restarted the SP to try use spy or bishop, or even I turn other factions spy off - no change. rebelline after rebeline every year.
Is is a fiture or something worng?

Try reducing taxes to very low, building border forts, assigning govenorships to high dread generals, getting as many spies and other agents in there asap and get a sea route connecting both sides of your kingdom as fast as you can.

Yeah, you might even want to check if the governor you leave in charge has the same religion as the majority of the province. Or else just try to bring in a large army.

thanks for the tips mate.
This time tried again with the mod of the High txt and put a huge army at Tripoli, with all the good buildings include churchs/border fort etc. I even put a big fleet to connect the rest part of France. I put tax to be very low, then it was good for 4 years, then it started to decline of the loyalty. despited of 12 spys and 3 bishops, a good generaly with 4 pitty and 5 dread. after turn 8, the loyalty was 16% again when I have probabbly around 2000men army there.

Sounds very strange indeed, I'd imagine that things would improve a bit when your king gets some builder vices, but you sound to have the majority of other bases covered. I'd imagine you've already checked but your governer dosen't happen to have any happiness reducing vices?, otherwise I'm pretty stumped.

Yeah, me too. Good last tip from Rocket. Maybe there are more people experiencing this?

You might also want to check the post:

Topic: Isolation, or, bad things to do with the King?

from ShaiHulud. He makes a point about how isolating your king is bad for loyalty.

thanks for the replies guys.
I was determined to find out the solutions so I went home and did some more test this lunch break - I had a 3hour break today http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
It seems to be random to me. I tested 6 time each time to start a new SP with same settings - French/High/Hard with same mods that to turn other faction spy off(mine ok)/king same provience/big starting army/same general - everytime the same general: 4star with weak principle/same buildings/auto resolve battle.
Now I got once that only Tripoli had problem of 0 royalty until turn 3, cyprus 0 until turn 2, and antioch no problem.
2 times that only Tripoli had repeated rebelline non stop and other 2 were fine.
2 times that all proviences had 0 royalty only in turn 1 and were fine after turn 2.
1 times that all 3 had repeated rebellines with royalty 0 -20%.
I think it may be random and depends on luck. I like war history a lot, but medievil is not my specialty. It seems historically French must had a very hard time there.
