Attila sure makes for some pretty screenshots. Especially with the new fire mechanic.

Isnt that the burnt down version of it? Either way I do prefer the new fort style.

Yup, it's a burnt down fort. But the AI is not reacting to the fact they no longer have the fort's protection. See the units standing at "the gates"? The AI proceeded rotating units to the imaginary gates as my crossbows slaughtered them.

Just curious...how much artillery and/or archer ammo did it take to do that? How many units involved?

One onager, you can see it walking off into the horizon in the pic. The field forts seem extremely fragile. It was enough to hit each tower once or twice and the whole wall section would burn. However, I had to make sure I placed the onager right on the edge of the target tower shooting range. The closer you get to the target the higher the accuracy (for all missiles).
There, the end of the battle screen; you can see my army composition:

Oh yeah, the onager had a gold chevron; so, more accurate than your fresh off the assembly line breed.

A few shots I rather like from a recent night encampment battle. Geats vs pre-patch "Nordic" Caledonians...so in a couple of shots it's rather difficult to tell who's friend and foe, lol.

Geat Archers attempt to fire a Caledonian tower...they will run out of ammunition before able to do so...

Berserkers...calm and steady for the moment...await the battle.

Yes, im afraid i'm far more interested in the rise of rome than the fall. ~:( I would love to switch over to ancient empires as ive been following the dev, but it doesnt appear to have a campaign module... yet!~
Until then Rome 2 will have to satisfy me!

Which one is the better one - the phalanx or the legion?
Nice shot! ~D
I love legion combat but i haven't really used phalanx much in r2. Though, any time i try to take it head on i suffer some nasty casualties at the front. I might have to give Macedon a go next time

I finished a campaign as Macedon, I have to say it was quite fun. That being said, you do have some serious fights to pick, and if you don't establish a strong base quickly, you need to do so.
Play as the Ptolemaic Kingdom!
