DM operating in game real time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm8r...ature=youtu.be

Bit of a ways to go before we'll know if this one is going to turn out worth getting, but I figured it was far enough along to share some links on it.

Looks like this has promise. Not sure about the DM mode though. I guess if you are good doing things on the fly, it could work, but I always liked planning things more carefully. Definitely a game to watch though.

Yeah, I think the DM aspect would require someone who has done it for awhile to do it real time, myself, I'd either have to pause everyone now and again if they started catching up with me or I'd probably just tend to use the creation tools to just make an entire dungeon the way I wanted it and then let folks run it. I just thought it was cool for folks who have played DM live to see that it might very well be possible using the new rule set to play online when this comes out.

The other aspect I suspect would be necessary would be playing with some friends instead of randoms. A random DM would have potential for a wipe. You'd have to implement a rating system or something for DMs in order for a party to know they weren't just getting someone who was going to wreck them.

Anyway, just brought it up because it looks like it's worth keeping track of.

Speaking of RPGs, anyone picked up Pillars of Eternity? I suspect I'm going to pick up this "BG2 successor" at some point, just waiting for it to go on sale.

It'll be interesting to see if Sword Coast Adventures will be as good as playing BG with all the multitude of mods you can attach. The BG Trilogy remake that came out a couple of years ago failed, so maybe a new game engine (isn't the Infinity game engine one of the best ever created:2thumbsup:) will put this game over the top.

DM's can make or break a game. Back when such games were the only in the realm of gaming clubs and played on a cardboard dungeon map with hand painted figurines (that dates me a bit, doesn't it:boxedin:), DM-run games could be a whole lotta fun...or extremely frustrating, depending on the quality of the DM.
