Fiendish Roman Defences!

Those cunning Romans have erected an impervious, invisible barrier behind the southern(?) gateway into Capua. Somewhere off to the left of the gateway is a tiny sally port which occasionally allows a defender out to attack my men flailing helplessly to get in. Fortunately the gateway on the west of the city was not so equipped.

A minor bug - or perhaps it somewhat abstractly represents a cache of future tech in the form of caltrops, pits, stakes and scythed, spiked swinging beams etc... :)

I think in Roman Culture walls, both eastern and western gates show this problem, I don't know if this can be solved, but this feature has been previously reported elsewhere.
