Yes it makes the SP game a bit better than before and fixes a few things we didn't even know were wrong in the first place. Some way to go before perfection but it's certainly worh it. If you regularly buy a PC magazine, i can only assume one of them must have it on a coverdisk by now.
Can we assume that you come onto these boards from work?
You wouldn't want to abuse the companies resources would you?

Have they sorted out the ship movement/battles?

Seems to, ship doen't alway flee the fight.
Cavalerie is the biggest improvment of the patch, now you could be scared of having cav in front of you.

The patch is a considerable enhancement, the tactical AI is much less stupid, and there are a lot of other enancements and fixes.

I had lots of CTD before the patch and none since installing it.

has anyone (besides me, that is) experienced a rather annoying delay in AI turns in the endgame, post patch? I have had it in all four campaings I've started since 1.1 installed, I also dropped two of those before finishing because of it...
Otherwise it is an extremely good patch. Quite worth it.

Me too, Rosacrux. In my campaign, the delay was produced by teh Turkish AI.
