For those who have yet to come across this :
I am unsure if this applies to MTW, but it certainly applies to VI : If you launch a "castle" assault and then remove one or more units from that assaulting stack, the AI presumes you have cancelled the assault but does not warn you of this !! So, if you wish to adjust an assaulting stack, then you need to "reorder" the assault before hitting the Year End button or ( like me ) you will find yourself losing troops in a siege action...
