I am just wondering what the heck they signify and why they are being assessed...

... if they are intended to deter conduct then we must all understand what conduct they are intended to deter and what the consequences will be if too many are issued...

this yellow card business is new to me

u risking a card yourself now, before u get your card OR edit your post OR let me chitchat with a mod to be gentle with u. my cham (a mongol messenger or yam) is a nasty eager person of which i am happy he is my messenger cuz he is always outside my ordu (mongol camp). the downside is that u all have to live with him. the boardmods have found a way to make him less noisy.

also recent org bussiness didnt help him as well.

for your knowledge my own yellow card (see below my avatar) was guided by this comment from the fan board staff....

---------------------------------------------------
"You have been warned by a staff member. Your warning level has been increased, and this will be viewable to all members. Once you have reached the maximum warning level, your posting permissions will be revoked.
You have been warned from the following post: www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin....ry26571

bORG? Are you trying to start new problems? 100's of manhours were wasted because you failed to protect your forums.

Setting up the org forums takes a lot of time, you really don't want to know how much more.

Here's another badge for you, 4 more and you're out. "

so as u see there are valid reasons to give someone a yellow card. and u can have 5 in total. my cham have to be carefull or he is "out". although a mongol empire relies on many many messengers, read at http://www.mongols.club.tip.nl

having 5 changes to get a crip on the thin line between being correct/funny and incorrect/nasty seems fair as well. dont u think?

The yellow chips are warnings; there are penalties for each successive increase. Warnings are given for Org rules violations, which of course can be read at the beginning of each forum. I won't go into any more detail, since it's no one's business how/why MagyarChamp has been warned, nor would I like to give him any more publicity about the matter.
