I want to enslave the rebels and make them row the ships, and put a sadist(or whatever they call that punk who whips the slaves)to whip them so they can work faster, and a drummer to liven them up(so they don't die of pain or boredom)
Sadist is not someone who take pleasure in beating up other people. Sadism, after the French Novelist Marquis de Sade, is to take pain as stimilii for sexual pleasure.

I think its a sadist who gets sexual pleasure inflicting pain and its a masochist who gets the pleasure recieving pain.

Cooperman is correct. Sado Masochists gain pleasure from both.
Can't remember who or when or where but this discussion is real familier in real life, feels like deja vu
Edit: do remember now (as soon as i posted(doh!http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif) it was a friend stating that sadists hate masochists .... sadists love to inflict pain and harm but masochists love to recieve pain for pleasure.
Masochist: "please hit me, please please please.."
Sadist: (grins evilly) "No."

You can read about it in HELL, sinner
Sorry people, I hijacked the thread. Tell you the truth, I am confused by the terms (should I go read Marquis De Sade novels now? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif)
About boat battles:
1. I would consider a boat to be a unit in formation.
2. When the unit is routed, the men "swim" away (slowly though);
3. The men on the boats can throw naphta or shoot arrows. When they are close to each other, they fight using swords.
4. Boat speed is slow and the turn radius is large.
5. Boat sinks when the unit is routed.
The terrain is easy: everything is flat blue.
I think it is possible to use current game engine and make it a boat fight. But I am not a programmer or modder http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif I believe it would be much easier once they have movable building (seige). A boat is a movable seige weapon at sea.
Epic Naval Battle...

He started writing when he realised the cruellest form of torture he could inflict was getting someone to read one of his books
