historical events

Hi just a question to the game experts out there-

i've noticed a number of historical events (in SP) that when they come up don't have a specific bonus e.g like the rise of the assassin one in the middle east near the beginning, pope's request to regain the holy land-1104?- and the one about chivalry.

They all refer to real events and add a bit of depth but i wondered if they had any gameplay effects? Stuff like the magna carter and finding the brain of someone seem to confer specific bonuses to certain factions but not those.

....or am i missing something....?

Ahhh the Old Man from the Mountain event. That enables the Hashishins, but who has a Mater Swordsmith and Ribat after so few years?

I think the other one enables the Crusades.

are they all listed somewhere in the program?

events have indeed impacts, most notably on zeal in provinces, influence of monarchs, and loyalty of generals. other are enabling new units (powder, compass,e tc.)

and there are other events of significance, the golden horde (now packing a real punch), the swiss, etc.

So it's more than just atmosphere

cut scenes were nice but impossible here : too many factions, so impossible to do a few per faction, and a general one would be quickly boring. I miss them, too, though.

I don't know if its a bug or not but in Champagne I had an event that gave its governer +1 or 2 acumen, but I was keeping my king there for the time being to keep my people happy (I'm HRE) and it gave him the acumen boost too interesting...

Strangely enough I would pay 40 bucks for an expansion to see some MTW videos. STW really came alive with the videos.
