I absolutely love them. Post patch they really are good. Also in SP there really is no better unit until the high period. The foot version is much superior to a unit of MAA despite having only 2/3 the men. Their high morale makes the greatest difference however, nothing worse than having a good unit run in the face of a few peasants.
I dont think they are even though Monkey makes a good point they cost to much to be a main unit. Maybe as a line breaker or something they can be usefull. But to replace MAA would be pretty much pointless and cost you your whole income to support the amount you need to be a MAA replacement.

Feudal Knights? They are the best garrison cavalry. I use heavy knights and special cavalry for campaigns while 1 or 2 of those can accompany any garrison in any province.

Feudal Knights as a garrison unit? Good golly that's expensive; isn't there support cost like 105? For that reason I'd try to not build too many until I'm ready for war, and use them on my front lines right away. Pre-patch I just made Chiv knights instead, but now I think Feudal knights may be more useful as chiv knights aren't available til later. But the only campaign i've played post-patch is Byzantines so I'm not sure.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy Feudal Knights ROCK See, my philsophy of this game is killing. I really like to see massive layers of bloodied bodies strewn across the landscape. And guess what: Feudal Knights are the best chargers of them all. Now you may say: WHAT? Feudal Knights BEST... CHARGERS But "yes" I say. See... there are 40 men to a unit in Feudal, and they are cheap for heavy cavalry (Dead people thing again: As long as they are bodies, I don't care). SO you string them out in a 20x2 row and CHARGE Then guess what you do: you pull them back. That's right: you withdraw. And then: CHARGE Lots of dead people (Hee hee!http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Great unit. High attack/defense/moral. Just a little more expensive the CMAA, but only 2/3s the manpower.
The Feudal Knights are great... I love them. Not as unruly as the Chiv Knights they are easier to handle I think.
They charge very well, and that is what they should do, for their stats makes them great fighters but they don't last long. If you don't take care they will be like Armenians and will die too soon. Charge and recharge.
BTW, they are the same as the Pronoiai Allagion, but with 1 less Armour and 2 better charge.

I use Feudal Knights until I can get Chiv. Thier size is larger than royal knights, and they can handle most any unit in the early/middle part of the game.
Edit: is this an exeptionally poorly-worded post, or is it just me?
Good unit. Available early.
More or less along the line with the top Muslim (and Orthodox) cav, but a little more expensive in most cases.
Not as tough as the top Christian cav (Chiv Knight, Lancer, high/late RK) but a lot cheaper.
Compare to Gendarmes: more att, less def, cost 100 more.
Twice as many men as Early Royal Knights.
I field twice as many Feudal Knights as any other kinds of cav.

They are only cheap when you use them imediately. They cost 105 a year, so as a garrison they are very expensive. I use them often because you need a good heavy cav unit post patch, but as soon as I can have chiv knights I use them. I`m not a very aggressive player so I keep my units usually long and so chiv knights turn out much cheaper.

Feudal K cavarly is the one you should take with you to fight in desert, they don't get exhausted that fast as chivalric cavalry(without moving)does. So they still have some edge on chivalry.

After about 50 years or so in my games i don't really have a problem with money so maintaining an small army of powerful units suits me much better than a large army of peasantry that runs and hides at the first sign of trouble.
