MP screwed up

Ok heres my prob in sp the game works perfectly but in mp everytime i join a game i keep gettin cheating messages ie. the players army costs more than he can afford, and when the game launches i get a message saying out of sync every time, this has only started to happen since my new motherboard and processor was put in they are a chaintech apogee and a 2000mhz athlon xp with a geforce 2 64mg card any similar problems with u guys or a solution would be welcome. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

it's not your motherboard. yuuki (puzz3d) found this bug that if you have loaded and played in single player and then go directly to multiplayer from there, the stats that get loaded in single are still resident in multi and dont match up with everyone else. you have to reboot the game completely to get rid of the singleplayer stats. you shld then be able to join mp games just fine.

also, if you're using a mod of any type that alters certain files, you will get the same thing. the game checks for file mismatches to prevent cheating. to play in multi you must use a 'clean' game or everyone playing your mp game must have the same files.
