hi guys, i have almost finished a log file reader programm. with easy to use interface u can determine some statistics about a battle fought using the log file. and also determine the kokuworth of your army after a battle. this can be used in small scenartios and campaigns.

BUT i need a list of the koku value of each unit for each honour level. i know it is reported earlier elsewhere but who can help me now!

I wrote a log reader too. I dont have a koku valuation feature at this time though. I'm thinking you can use the honor 2 values +/- 25% for each change in honor. If memory serves me correct, reducing the honor from 2 to 1 for a yari sam will reduce its cost from 200 to 150, or 25% less. I would say try changing honor for each unit in MP and determine if this is the case. But if someone already has a list of such values, I would like to know them too!

BTW, the reader I wrote is more tuned to finding patterns in opponents play than reporting the outcome of an individual battle. Thus, it is used to read in a pile of log files. It is really nice to find all the koku cheaters you have played with a click of a button!

These tools might be useful for the Multiplayer campaign Obake and company are working up. Anything that would make the campaign administrators' job easier will be a great help. You might want to post over on the "The online campaign could work" thread.

Also, I think the base value of the different units is slightly different in single vs multi player games. Aren't cav archers 500 koku in SP, but something like 450 or 475 koku in MP? Also, the baseline in SP is honor 0, whereas in MP it is honor 2. But I think the 25% rule is applied to both equally. And, in SP you have to account for clan-specific unit specialties; Shimazu's No-Dachis have a cheaper base price than the same unit for other clans. This is not the case in MP. So, I think you will need to identify the log file being read for analysis as either SP/MP/Historical/Custom (all easily distinguishable in the filename itself).

VAnya becarefull, I Noticed some strange things in the logfile, i noticed that in a 5000 koku battle i was able to spent 5006 koku (according to the logfile) whereby i am sure i spent 4994 koku (my regular army).

BTW where are the kokuvalues..... some people should know them

It's not 25% change...

an honor 2 yari sam is 200
an honor 3 yari sam is 280....this is 40% change.

also, it is more exponential... richie gave us a formula once. (I don't have any exact number right now, sorry)

How do you intend to calculate the koku value of the remaining troops.

As the unit honor is an average.
Thus a good way would be to calculate a value for each troop type and their respective honor as an individual, and then total each remaining soldier's koku value.
ie: H2 YS = 200 koku for 60 thus a single YS H2 = 3.333 koku. Totaled and rounded to the closed koku at the end.

You have probably already thought of this but just in case.... Widda.

I couldn't find the real formulae for each unit although each follow an exponantial law. But as there is only 16 units and 10 honour level a table can suit I think.

Hmmm the values are close anyway Tachikaze.
I can't verify them before 21 GMT. If noone else can (it's easy to do in the army selector) I will post then.

For the difference in values reported in log files, I never noticed any difference until now.
I just tested by starting a game and withdraw at the beginning several times with several koku armies.
I took the value of a unit/unit size -> single man value to recalculate the army value.
But I think that is what you are doing.

Hi,

Question here: Are the logfiles for the localized versions of the game all in english? Just asking, because I know for one thing that the config files produced by Info Pro (also included in Shogun) produce them in different languages. Has been fun, people sending them to me to help them with tech probs in finnish, spanish and italian...

For the log files, as far as I know there is no localized version including log files (they appeared in 1.11) but with a french version english patched 1.12 I have the log files in english.

Yours is mostly-likely more accurate. I did not prove my figures.

Perfect accuracy is not critical if Magyar wants to create a formula. I think the trends will be clear, especially on the figures where we match.

I used about the same system you did. I started a Custom Battle match vs. the AI, and selected one unit at a time, checking the cost at each increase of the honor. It is not intended to have any application to Campaigns, only single-player and multiplayer battles.

In fact those values are close from (H0 cost) * exp(0.3365*honour) for each units.
