Improved diplomacy post patch?

In my current polish campaign the HRE is for many years at war with the danes, the hungarian and the italian. About all 10 years the HRE wants a alliance with me but I'm already allied with his enemies. Has anybody expierenced such a behavior?

the british were once cornered they and the almohads were under spanish/french threat until i rescued them.the little buggers regained all their former territory in no time and once the spanish/french skum were eradicated they went against metalk about backstabbing bastards

I`ve seen this too, it`s not unusual. Only after 1300 or so, no one wants ever ally with me.
