I feel so proud. I was fighting off a rather large muslim revolt with a vastly undermanned garrison force and because it was a naval assult they had nowhere to go. So they all got attacked. I had a unit of orderfoot, a unit of Knights of Santiago with 1 man in (the general, rank 0) and two mercenariy archers facing about 3000 men. It was one of the best battle I have ever fought. He would not die I was sitting on top of a lovely hill waiting for death but he just rocketed off to get at the enemy. Oh sod he's dead I cry, but no. He just keeps killing, when everyone else in my army has gone, he stays there and eventually decapitates their general and they get butchered. Great stuff. After that battle he got promoted to a one star, got specialist defender, last stand and utterly fearless. How cool is that. I use him in almost every battle now he just rules, he is valour 12 and just will not die.
Like I say I felt just like a proud father about a son that has turned suddenly brilliant.

I didnt somehow click on MP did I. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif This sortof happened to me as the Almos, cept i was on the losing end. Hit this Byzantine army, wasted most of it down to the 1 kataphrktoi general. He proceeded to give me what for, till he got off the map. 200+ dead by his hands alone, really hated knowing he was then defending the castle next.

As stupid as it sounds, I was so busy thinking about how bloody great my bictory was that the idea of saving it came moments after I had missed the save window. I felt a bit of a tit I can tell you. Next battle he fights in you can see how hard he is, promise. The problem is, that I doubt he will ever be in this sort of situation again.
Though having said that, the Cursed Almohads have just attacked and taken Valencia, they really shall pay.

Just 1 question a great general can only be truly great if he has a hard assed name... so what is ur generals name?

Sword arm raised and mail shining in the morning sun, as the charge hit home and the enemy shook before his onslaught they did know the wrath of Bludgetranker, the Bloodrinker: the Rage of the Earth.

Or he could be called Bob, haven't decided.
