I keep seeing comments about Sipahi of the Porte being the royal guard units for the Turks... Is this not true post-patch, or did I just accidentally break something in my modding, cause I get Ghulam Bodyguards instead...

I think the Bodyguard is the right choice for royal units: they are available in all eras, with the late era slightly more expensive and better unit than the high era.

Yeah, I'm just curious whether normally your kings and heirs have Sipahi of the Porte as their bodyguard units when playing the Turks, because I keep hearing people say that, but when I play the Turks I get Ghulam Bodyguard and I'm wondering if something is wrong with my game (This is entirely possible because it's rather modded at the moment)

Turks get Ghulam Bodyguards i the Early and High Period, and Sipahi of the Porte in the late.

restore your previous settings and check it out,if its still ghulam then your game has a problem...
