View Full Version : Shadowrun Returns
This game is a couple years old now, but I don't see any threads for it....
My first experience with the Shadowrun world was the 90's era console game on the SNES, after which I dabbled in the PnP game for a short time. It was a fantastic, deep game world and I was very excited to see it come back to video game format.
I recently picked it up on discount on GOG and have been hooked. I played thru Returns and went straight into the expansion/sequel Dragon Fall. Great writing, great isometric, tactical gameplay and a deep skills system (it also runs on Linux! :2thumbsup: ). Highly recommended- it's reminiscent of Fallout1/2, imo.
Anyone played this game?
Yup, I have Hong Kong too, but real life got in the way and not completed it yet. You can also pick up the titles on Android and IOs too.
I did like Dragonfall far more than the original SR though.

Interesting. I found them really lackluster in the named qualities. It felt like a padded-out "arcade" game for a console. As in, everything that critics dislike about Deus Ex Invisible War, Returns/Dragonfall did worse.

Underrail seems to be the only major title so far that's managing a strong resemblance.

So far, I'd agree. But that's less a knock against Returns than praise for Dragon Fall.
Don't get me wrong- I'm not saying these are the best games evar, but they are very good. The video game equivalent of a page turner. It's also very nostalgic.
Am I the only one who actually liked Invisable World? Once you start to break it it's great, you can really mess everything up. Unified ammo is no problem for me, the original has multitools as well

Do you mean Invisible War? I enjoyed that one.

I thought it was fine. IIRC you used to hate it.
