I've seen him twice. Back in '77 he was playing keyboards for Iggy Pop at the Ardwick Apollo in Manchester. One of the most memorable gigs I've ever been to and again in '96 at the Town and Country club, Leeds. The latter being his own gig. I even met him for a couple of minutes in '77.

Yes, I too am incredible sad.

We mustn't forget he had a family and my thoughts are with them on this day.

Growing up, I wasn't a big fan of his type of music. Looking back, I realize most of it just went over my head. As I grew older though, I could appreciate the talent and drive he had, the willingness to try new things and never get stale. His collaborations were usually superb, he always brought something new to a genre.
