I have just installed Europa Barbarorum 2 on My laptop
The Eb 2.1 works and starts up with no problems
However when I patch it up to 2.1b the game crashes on start up. Belo I have posted the error log

Did you apply the patch to the right place? The installer for it points at the root M2TW directory, rather than at mods\EBII, so easy to miss that.

I did change the directory to mods/Eb2 otherwise there would be no error. As I mentioned earlier Eb2.1 starts up without a problem. its after I patch it up then the crash occurs.

I have exactly same problem after upgrading.

This problem has been fixed. well in theory it should definitely work now.
I apologize to all who have read this thread and tried to analyse what is the problem for wasting their time.
Moreover it is extremely embarassing to me after I have found out the reason for the CTD

It turns out I was not updating patch 2.1b on Eb 2.1 but on Eb 2.01

That sort of thing happens all the time, so don't worry about it. Thanks for letting us know.

Oh. Delete every copy of 2.01 you have anywhere, 2.1 is a complete new-start replacement. The gulf of change between 2.01 and 2.1 is pretty huge.
