Map Making

Hi All
i have a Question for all u dudes that make maps for MTW....

i have made a map and it plays fine in single player mode, the problem is with multiplayer mode.....
i have emailed the map files,( 2 of them )to my friend and they have placed them into the Battle/maps folder. But when we try to test the map out in multiplayer mode it keeps saying cant join due to startpos etc etc being wrong ? any idea's to what i am doing wrong ? am i missing some process i have to do to the files after i have made the map with the editor ? at the moment i am just copying the files from my savemap folder in mtw and pasting them into battle/map folder then also emailing them to friend for online test purposes...

do these files need to have anythin else done to em to get em to work in multiplayer mode ?

ahhh one more question ? is there anyway to edit start positions for players

I dunno about the MP part, i don't do a whole lot of multiplayer.

But, unfortunatly, there is no way to edit starting positions...

I found out the hard way, made a beautiful map with a castle on a peninsula, texture every tile on the map. Then i played it and the enemy was in the castle, and i was outside... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

Alworan, you know those things, where you have two gates, a little lane between and arrow towers along the lane? Did you get troops to move through those? I made one and they wouldn't go through.
