With everyone wandering why CA is going to realease a total new TW series with new engine when there isn't even a decent Expansion pack ready yet for MTW I have the following thought.

I get the feeling that MTW is an expansion pack of Shogun TW. I mean, when modding you find stuff everywhere from Shogun, the game look the same at first, etc. So I guess that with the STW engine, CA improved everything they could within the limits of the STW engine and just named it MTW instead of calling it an expansian pack to earn more bucks.

Do I make any sense or did I party to hard the last two days? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

You make sense, but I disagree with you. They are using the same engine, that's all.

Starwars Galactic Battlegrounds uses the Age Of Empires II engine. Doesn't make it an add on. Jedi Knight 2 uses the Quake 3 engine. Soldier Of Fortune uses the Quake 2 engine.

Why fix what ain't broken? Why code a new engine if the old one works fine?
