View Full Version : Time for a dedicated Rome: TW Forum ?
Greetings Everyone and all success for 2003 http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Considering the number of threads already running on the subject I'd think it is time for a RTW only Forum to be launched.
Naturally, the launch can be deferred to after the RTW game is officially "confirmed". However since the game is virtually confirmed (evidence: all hints, screenies, intro movie, gamestar article), maybe best to start work on the next forum, already.

Not yet, its to early. Maybe in a few months when we actually know something about the game besides the fact that it deals with Rome.
Yes possibly.
Until then though, we will have a lot of RTW threads in the MTW area.

I'd go along with that, but wait till we get the official info. first - and perhaps some more screenies that we can discuss.

A dedicated forum might be too much right now, but the fan ideas to CA should be flowing... I think they have the data from the patch wishlist too, and I guess they'll use that too, but you can never mistake when giving feedback to the game developers.

Personnally I think it is to early.
We have no info to talk about yet.
We have no preview to discuss...
etc..
Maybe in a month or so we might have a little more info, or maybe things will die down for a few months, as things did with Medieval.
So I say at this moment in time, I personnaly think we dont need one yet.

I think it is a good idea. All news about it can be posted there, and people can follow the development. And the other forum will be more "clean". And it does not cost anything to open a new forum http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I agree that it is not an imperative. However it is as Sjakihata says, it will be much cleaner to move the Rome TW threads to that forum, and it will serve as the place to talk and follow the development of the game. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Yeah I feel its bit too early. We also have an expansion coming soon. But ofc we shouldnt wait too long if the developers are interested in our feedback..

point taken
I almost voted for "GAH" due to it might be too early to tell and I'm also convinced it's the real thing, but then I convinced myself that early won't hurt, so yes we should once we got the word that it's surely going to be Rome.
too little information. discussions would just be "I think they should add this"
"no, that's stupid -- you're stupid"
"bite me"
"that's funny, I though the do*che-bag parade was on sunday"
Well the 16th of January keep popping up in Gils posts, so lets wait fro that at least, and personally I think we should wait for the expansion. Maybe a lot of the things we want better are better in that, so there would be no need to yell it out in another forum.

Its too early for all that, lack of gaming details from official sources will just led to too many speculation and wild imagination to make it viable.

once the furor dies down and the holidays pass you can be sure the MH will be a bit more cleaned-up regarding the posting of repetitive Rome threads - those of you from previously remember how things got for a week or two right before patch 1.1 was released, and then the subsequent two weeks after; things are runnign fine now and there's no damage.
too early at this stage,
imho

Too early. We should have one in two weeks though. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
In all seriousness, we really don't have that much information to toss around in a forum anyway. Besides, the few topics we have on Rome aren't going to get in the way of Medieval discussion. In any case, there will certainly be a Rome forum and you can count on .org to change with the times.
Couple more screenies from the inro movie:

Hey Storm,
Just click the link above and d/l the intro movie. It can't get any more official than this. It just cannot.
