Hi all.

I´m doing a MoD atm ... and I duno if a change of the Order Knights would be appropriate ... the question I have is kinda historical and not so much about modding ... so I ask it here.

The 4 Orders of Knights ( Templar, Teutonic, Hospitaller, Santiago) where did they have their Chapterhouses in history ?

The Knights Hospitaller had one in Malta ... where else ?
The Knights Teutonic had one in Prussia ... where else ?
The Knights Templar had one in Palestine ... where else ?
The Knights Santiago had one in ... Leon ( I suppose ) ... where else ?

Any help would be apreciated.

I was planning to make the diffrent kinds of Knights available only in certain provinces to reflect the fact they were controled by the church and not by the diffrent monarchs ... but I duno if its appropriate or not ... only some 1 or 2 provinces wouldn´t be enuff and would rather reduce the fun of playing.

Knights Hospitaller:Started in antonic, expelled by muslim, order retreated to rhodes, expelled by sulemium the magnifacent, charles V of spain allowed them to move to malta, award for bravery in battle, still exsicts to a extent via the free masons
Teutonic Knights:Started by a bunch of bored european nobles looking for some glory first in the far flung north eastern part of poland, then moving into litueana and estonia remaining there for quite some time
Knights Templar:largest order of all, started in jersalem, became very powerful and built chapter houses all threw out europe
Knights Sangiago:created during the "recounqusta" of spain, order that looked for bored french, "spanish" and italian nobles and fought against the almohads(late) and the caliph of bagdad(early period), eventually made it in the 1400s

thx Zacharat

lets see if I get it right ...

Knights of St.John : Anatolia (antonic?), Rhodos, Malta

Knights Teutonic : Prussia, Pomerania, Lithuania, Livonia, eastern Germany, Poland

Knights Santiago : Spain, southern France, north-west Italy

Knights Templar : northern France, England, west and south Germany, south and eastern Italy, Jerusalem, Nicaea (or better some greek islands close to it)

Again ... the idea is to implement this info with my MoD ... so that those knights are only available in "their" areas ... so for example: A French Crusade launched from Toulouse could have Knights Santiago with it ... etc.

Knights of St.John are look pretty limited ... some more "outposts" would be nice to actualy get to see them during a campaign http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif .

Btw. what you think of the idea ?

the teutonic order was pretty much everywhere just like the st john order and the temple - they started as the hospital of st mary of the germans in outremer. They always had preceptorys there (like montfort castle) The iberian orders were pretty much just in iberia (some of them held preceptorys in the holy land as well)

Templars had preceptories in ireland and livonia to name a few.

ive written so many topics on this and its 3 am - give my name a gander to see what ive written if you are interested - mostly in the dungeon
