View Full Version : An ode to SFTS

So back a few months ago I made a bet with Strike about the results of the Presidential election in the state of Pennsylvania. I said if Clinton won the state, he would have to make a thread about how great I am, and I would do the same if Trump won the state. So in the end Trump won the state and I am a man of my word so here goes:
"Oh how we should bask in the glory that is Strike!
All those naysayers should consider taking a hike.
For the one from Texas bears knowledge others do not possess,
A level of wisdom that I do not have I must confess.
He is a fantastic and wondrous being who we should all strive to emulate,
Since he is the one who said that the Keystone State would vote to make America great (again)."
Cheers Strike, hope you liked my horrible attempt at poetry.

I read a copious amount of his work growing up.

Still and quiet feline form,
in the sun, asleep and warm.
His tail is limp, his
whiskers pooped.
Man, what could make this cat so pooped?
My tiger, it seems, is running 'round nude.
This fur coat must have made him perspire.
It lies on the floor - should this be construed
As a permanent change of attire?
Perhaps he considers its colors passe,
or maybe it fit him too snug
Will he want it back? Should I put it away?
Or use it here as a rug?
and so on.

If Obama had passed the healthcare reform he wanted, this wouldn't have happened. I miss him already.

Does this homage to SFTS allow for humorous limericks at Hooah's expense?

"Strike's wrong," quipped bold Hooahguy,
As he wagered his pride on the fly.
Strike took that rash bet,
said "You'll be lauding me yet,"
And Strike was proved right, by-and-by.

With banstick bold Hooah' doth threaten
Then meekly behaves like a kitten.
Since he plays at both sides,
his political wit drys,
and by Strike's prediction was beaten

I'll admit to the flagrant use of half-rhyme in the second one. :shame:

In praise of Strike
Who's immortal form and glinting eye
Cause the Gods themselves
In envy to sigh
Raise him aloft
And mark him well
For amongst us Mortals
He has chose to dwell :hail:

You also violated a maxim.
do not mistake my incoherence for my incorrectness. I am always correct.
I shall dedicate the coffee I'm having right now to Strike.
Cheers! :2thumbsup:

I drank an extra bottle of beer today on your behalf. It was delicious.

A 'long neck' Shiner Bock one hopes -- the Texas connection matters.
