Hi all,
We haven't had a post/game in a little while, and as mod I feel like it's probably my duty that I should do something about this. So here's the deal:
I've got a game. It's not ready - not even in pre-alpha, really - but it's starting to germinate. So I figured I'd take the temperature of the playerbase to see if I'd bother going full-throttle in terms of designing the thing. Here's what I'm willing to reveal so far:
- It will take place in Paris at some point during the French Revolution
- It will be more or less historically faithful (I know what I'm doing in terms of the source material)
- It will have very detailed flavor
- It will not be an uber-vanilla "traditional GH" game - there will probably be lots of things going on and post-death reveals
- It will 99% not be balanced
- I'm looking to run it starting late February/early March, as I may be out of the country for an extended period of time in early April
This thread is just a general interest gauge and not an official signup thread, as I'm not even sure the game will happen at this point. But if it did, your thoughts?

I was going to crop the quote to highlight specific points I was particularly excited about, but I like all of those points

This.
I am ready for a game that is not mostly vanilla and has a lot going on in the shadows.

I've been looking to get back in the game, and this fits my estimated availability, so absolutely, even if ancien regime is more my cup of tea :) .

I would be available.
I'm down if Zack promises to buy me icecream first.
does ice cream that's been sitting in the freezer for awhile count?
my roommate brought home a huge tub of ice cream after some event and it's been sitting there so long
Yeah that works, I'm not too picky.

sure thing.
- It will 99% not be balanced
^Probably in if this stands. Less balance is more fun, no exceptions.

Ha, I'm in the same country Snerk is in now.
We're members of the Legitimate Businessmen's Association of Norway. Obviously better than those ungrateful French revolutionaries. Let them eat cake instead of bread, I have no idea what they're even protesting about.

Okay, I've made a breakthrough in terms of conceptual design. Ideally I'd like at least 24 players, and there's still a long ways to go in terms of designing the thing, but...
It's on.

It's like the cosa nostra only that in our circles the term 'sleeping with the fishes' is not a metaphor for anything.

I'm down for that. I should be out of conceptual stage here within a day or two. I'll be posting an interest thread within the week for starting in maybe two weeks max.

Hey, not sure how many of you are just hanging out in this thread and not looking at the overall forum so might have missed this post (I know I did) but there is a game that will be starting sooner in the gameroom. https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?152432-Interest-Gauge-The-Time-of-Troubles-%28running-before-GH-s-game%29
I am not meaning to insult the intelligence of anyone here by implying that they could not find it themselves, I just know I almost missed it and want to make sure more people see it.

Ey, Snerky. Dis One oh one oh somethin' guy is acting wise. I dunno I think he knows too much and should keep his head down.
Snerky, keep his head down. Click click. Capice?
Snerky, put down the herring. Clean yourself up. If father saw you now, he'd drop dead on his own instead of getting shot 33 times in the head.

Your lack of fondness for the classical studies indicates to me that you are not a supporter of Consul Napaloni. Guards!

I think you mean Denmark. Ushlu is not the capital of anything.
