While I was playing earlier today and really used assassins & spies waiting for provinces to build up, I remembered something from Shogun..

From what I recall you could build something that actually improved your spies/assassins and even get the super spy/assassin girl unit, is there any building or provinces in MTW that does the same ???

I think the geishas (which I'm pretty sure is what you mean) have been pretty much been "like-for-like" replaced with inquisitors (for catholic factions anyways). Just like geishas, they aren't taken out by your spies/border guards as they aren't "covert" units as such- so you're free to "save" the souls of enemy generals without repercussions. They can be assassinated, though that's pretty much the only way to get rid of the pests.

I think you need a monastery to produce these evil little gits.

Thx alot for the answers... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Guess I have to use more of those inquisitors, and on the same time try to improve my spies by finding something rotten about other kings and their generals.. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

btw is it just me or does that "put a massive group of spies into a province and cause rebellion" not work as easily as mention in the Spies thread after the patch?

I don't think that there were any official comments about changes done to spies as far as the patch is concerned. I think that the "do-it-yourself rebellion" depends on the target province at the most part.

Rebellions still work. Provinces don't rebel as easy though (at least theirs don't)

Yea thats what I thought, I had 20+ spies placed in Saxony and all I got from that was alot of dead spies (and some invasion info)....

Put a couple of cardinals in the province and the inquisitors leave pretty quickly, I think...

This will probably seem to be a cheesey way to improve your assassin's rating.
You can have him murder princesses, emissaries, priests/alims/bishops etc. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
