here are a few choice hints from Acitivision on how to
play MTW. It is like a tutorial on how do give the least infomation possible or how to sidestep the real issue.
1. Question
How can I put units onto ships?

Answer
You cannot put units onto ships.

2. Why do I keep getting rebellions/revolts in my loyal territories?

Answer
This is usually due to a large number of spies in your territories.

3. Question
I keep getting “You have been disconnected from the server” during internet games.

Answer
Make sure you and all other players meet the multiplayer minimum system requirements. Check to see if you are playing through a firewall, proxy server or proprietary ISP computer network systems. Activision does not support playing the game through a firewall or proxy server. Next, you should ensure your Internet connection is setup and working properly. This can be done by launching a web browser and going to one of your favorite web page.

You will be disconnected if someone logs in with your CD Key or email address. Make sure to keep your CD Key secret and never share it with anyone.

Lord Romulous answer - Sorry we did not devote enough time and money to the multiplayer aspect. bad luck.

4. Question
I played with the danes and conquered enough lands to get all the conquer dots to turn red, and when it was time to get the points I only got homeland points. The computer player gets the conquer points.

Answer
Make sure when you conquer something, that you continue to hold it until the years are calculated at the end. If there is a castle under siege on the land you have conquered, it will not total the points for that piece of land. Also, for more information on this game and it's gameplay information, you may want to read a F.A.Q. on it (frequently asked questions). Try going to www.gamefaqs.com for more info or try going to www.totalwar.com.

Lord Romulous Answer - sorry we did not devote enough money and time to get the GA aspect to work properly.

5. Question
I have questions regarding the editor or SDK.

Answer
Activision does not provide support for the map editor or other components of the SDK.

An editor - or SDK - is available for this game. The SDK has not passed through our quality assurance program, and as such we can make no guarantees of it's functionality or performance.

Lord Romulous's asks. does this mean you make guarantees of functionality for the parts of the game that did pass though your quality assurance program ????? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

ok ok im citing some extreme examples. most of the faq on the site is actually quite good.

You sound angry. You might want to get that looked at. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

And remember, marketing or PR types are probably writing that. Now I don't expect quality work from them. Do you?

Marketing is usually evil. Gil is good. Its friends seem good too.
