Post-patch I get about 15-20 kills per catapult in a big battle. Pre-patch it was about 50-70 kills per catapult in a big battle.

The enemy army doesn't stand around like it used to pre-patch, but it seems my catapults are very innaccurate now. Pre-patch I would flatten dozens of enemy troops on the initial approach with deadly hits and bounces, now I'm lucky to get one or two hits per catapult and those hits are usually just a couple kills on the edge on an enemy unit. I can't remember last time I struck a really satisfying direct hit on an enemy formation - although I can still kill the enemy general once in a while http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Catapult accuracy seems to be waaay off since the patch. Anyone else notice this? Oh well, I suppose catapults being less effective is more historically accurate, but it was such fun smashing enemy troops with giant bouncing rocks http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif

oops topic title error: the = they.

I gave up catapults when I saw they where faaaar less efficient in the game than in the demo. So pre or post patch, I don't feel they are useful on the battlefield. Siege only.

Good, maybe people won't use them on mp anymore, cheap way to kill my gen http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif

I tried the cats in sp though and they worked good only when I aimed at the first oncoming unit, so the ones behind that one get hit.
